Faringdon is a market town in the Vale of White Horse, in Oxfordshire within the historic boundaries of Berkshire, England. It is located on the edge of the Thames Valley, between the River Thames and the Ridgeway.
On 2 February 2008, Faringdon was granted Fairtrade Town status. In 1990, the town was twinned with Le Mêle-sur-Sarthe in France. Faringdon is the base for the Faringdon Enterprise Gateway, which is run by the South East England Development Agency to help and advise businesses in rural west Oxfordshire.
